My name is Mehdi. I’m a 30 years old business developer & marketing consultant. I am originally from Iran, but currently residing in Turkey where I work as a freelancer, helping entrepreneurs and business owners to develop & promote their businesses.

My Rather Long Story

My story didn’t begin with business development or marketing. Back in 2005, when I was 14 years old, I started learning Flash Animations and Adobe Photoshop. I delivered my first project during the summer of 2005 and got my first salary. It wasn’t much but I was 14 and nothing could make me feel better than making money on my own.

It was then that I decided to try my best to learn all I can about Flash & Photoshop to be able to get better job offers and make more money. One thing led to another and gained a lot of experience doing what I was doing back then.

It was around 2008 when I got my first job, a part-time graphic designer, designing product catalogs, providing website content, and making marketing materials. The job wasn’t paying much, but what I learned and the experience I gained during the 5 years I was working there, taught me the fundamentals of a world I was about to enter.

By the end of 2012, I had a broad understanding of research & development, content marketing, SEO, and website design, and was able to employ them for good. In 2013, I was headhunted by a company as an R&D specialist. This was an important opportunity for me because I could put all my skills & abilities to the test in a professional context.

I was working directly with the business development department and marketing team and sharing the results of research & analysis for new markets, opportunities, products, customers, etc., and in return, I learned the fundamentals of business development and marketing for big companies.

In 2016, the company I was working for was merged with a larger heavy industry holding and I was offered to manage one of the business development departments. I accepted the offer and mustered all my power to be the best at what I was doing. This was my last full-time job, after which I quit to work as a freelancer business developer and marketing consultant.

Since late 2017, I’ve been working as a freelancer during which I carefully chose my clients and passionately worked by their side to achieve business milestones from starting a business from scratch to promoting and successfully monetizing it.

I specifically work with businesses related to technology, fintech, SaaS, eCommerce, blockchain & cryptocurrency, eGaming & iGaming, Travel, and Lifestyle niches providing services such as business planning & modeling, product & market research, providing marketing plans, in-depth site/business auditing, providing content, and implementing content marketing and social media marketing campaigns.

Over the years that I worked for different companies and business owners, one thing became crystal clear for me, and that is no matter the size of business operations or monetization model, all businesses from a small supermarket to a vast multinational corporation will require business development & marketing to make more money.
